Birth Stone for November
Birthstones accompany a birth month, which each stone having a special meaning and significance attached to it.
Birthstones date back to ancient times and was believed to have special powers. There two types of birthstone charts — traditional and modern.
The traditional chart was inspired by the 12 gemstones on the breastplate of the High Priest of the Israelites, in the Bible.
While the modern birthstone chart was created by the National Association of Jewellers, featuring more gem options than the traditional list.
November has two different birthstones, topaz and citrine.
November Birthstone - Topaz
Topaz is a golden yellow gem that symbolises love and affection. It is also believed that this stone can provide strength and intellect to those who wear it.
This gem has a long history in various parts of the world. Europeans believed that it could thwart spells and dispel anger, while the people in India believed that wearers would have a long life.
November Birthstone - Citrine
Citrine is another of November’s birthstone. Similar to topaz, this gem come in various hues of yellow, including brownish orange and transparent yellow.
This gem has been popular since the ancient times, believing to have similar powers and properties as topaz. This stone was also believed to sooth tempers while calming those who wore this stone.
Citrine is also said to provide luck and fortune to the wearer, thus usually associated with promoting success and clarity.

November’s birthflower is the chrysanthemum, signifying loyalty and luck. This month’s birthstone necklace will consist of a citrine pendant and a matching chrystanthemum petal. The petal pendant has been handcrafted from a flower.
